• Register on our website/mailing list and get a ticket before arriving to the Open House.
  • Bring your school ID or other form of documentation. A VALID SCHOOL ID OR OTHER DOCUMENTATION that verifies that you will be using supplies for educational/research or nonprofit science purposes is required for entry to the Depot.
  • Attendees must check in and out at the Registration table. Don’t take items through to the parking to your car without approval. Those that take items without checking out will be banned from the Depot. 
  • Do not take Depot property or other people’s items. There are designated “No Shopping” areas. Please do not take items from these areas, pallets or carts. They will be clearly marked. Please do not take items such as carts; office equipment, tape guns, furniture whether or not they have “Property of” stickers on them. If you are not sure if an item is a giveaway or not, please ask. There will be designated areas for holding your items. You can also label items that you gather. 
  • Be mindful that there are other shoppers. As a general rule, please take only a “car load” full. This may not include a large item such as a refrigerator.
  • Larger items: If you see a large item that you will have trouble taking today, try to arrange a friend or other Open House attendee to haul your item today (day of the Open House). If you are unable to make arrangements please contact the Depot staff as soon as possible.
  • Safety: No running/climbing. Lift with your legs, not your back. If an item is heavy or out of reach, please ask for assistance.  If you see an exit blocked, broken glass or other hazard, please report it. The are fire extinguishers clearly marked around the Depot. First aid kits are located at the registration table. Evacuation area is located at the entrance of the Habitat Restore under the three flags. 
  • Set-up and breakdown volunteering. There is approximately a 30-minute set-up period and a 30-minute break-down and clean-up period. Please do not “shop” during these periods. The staff will make these time periods clear.
  • Depot Helpers: If you have been at the Depot before and can answer questions to other teachers we would like you to place a red sticker on your name tag (issued at the registration table).
  • Do not sell your items on eBay, Craigslist or any other manner. All supplies must go to your school. If you are unable to use your item you are free to donate it back to the Depot.
  • Please weigh your cart before exiting. We are funded based on the weight we divert from the landfill.
  • Please sign your Participant sheet and fill it out completely. You can ask staff or volunteers for approximate value of an item or do a Google Search. These forms will help us secure future funding. Those teachers who failed to complete their itemized list, will be barred from Depot events, until they submit their list to our office.
  • Carts are available throughout the Depot. Please use them for loading and unloading only.
  • Boxes are located near the gate. If they run out, contact us immediately. Tape guns are available to create boxes that are flattened.
  • Wear comfortable clothing, No open-toed shoes
  • No Children (individuals under 18) are allowed at the Depot, due to our Insurance Policy.
