There are many ways that you can help the Depot. One of the best ways is to donate your time as a volunteer. You can sign-up to Volunteer by clicking here–> VOLUNTEER FORM

Event Volunteers

The Depot also offers important networking opportunities for instructor volunteers. Teacher volunteers staff the Depot Open Houses, which occur multiple times throughout the year. These and other occasions allow science and biotech teachers to learn about each others’ successes and challenges, and to gather ideas for effective science instruction.

Before teachers receive their needed supplies, everyone at an Open House assists with organizations and setup. This may include:

  • Working the registration or check-out tables

  • Moving materials out to the dispersement area

  • Helping educators who are new to the depot

  • Sorting equipment and supplies

  • Re-stocking equipment and supplies

  • Clean-up

Industry Volunteers

IMG_2858In addition to donating items, industry has played an important role at the Depot by encouraging their employees to volunteer to sort, inventory, build shelves, and organize equipment and supplies.

Special Volunteers

Special Volunteers help prior to Open Houses and are part of our core team. They assist with:

  • Receiving donations from trucks

  • Cataloging equipment and supplies

  • Organizing and sorting supplies

  • Making sure all materials are ready for the Open House
