Thanks goes out to everyone who made the December Open House a success! We had 124 attendees, gave away $82,737 of supplies and had 49 institutions represented. Genentech and UCSF continue to be our biggest donors followed by Celgene, USF and Dupont. Welcome aboard, our newest donors, Theravance (http://www.theravance.com/home) (Thanks Duane for doing the pickup) and BioSurplus (http://www.biosurplus.com) (Thanks to Lori Lindberg of CLSA (http://califesciences.org) for connecting us).
December’s Open House
The December 19th Open House had 124 attendees, 64 active shoppers, gave away $82,737 of supplies and had 49 institutions represented. These educators will bring these supplies to a total of 19,555 students in the Bay Area and beyond. Thanks again to all those that helped with the set-up and especially the break-down. We are excited to continue to enhance and grow the Depot for 2016 to better serve industry and educators alike. We welcome your ideas on how to improve our website, Open Houses and donations systems. You can reply to this email with your ideas and/or sign-up to volunteer (http://goo.gl/forms/bQdMyfSE68) as a consultant or help with a 2016 project.
The Depot welcomes our newest donors, BioSurplus and Theravance Biopharma. BioSurplus provided over three pallets of consumables, glassware and equipment. Tim of Theravance delivered a lab hood and Julabo Ultra-low recirculating Chiller. Thank you and we look forward to your continued support of the Depot.
You might just think that Herb Masters is just a great “Outside Area” volunteer for our Open House events. Outside of the Depot, he is the editor of the popular SciSchmooze (http://www.bayareascience.org) newsletter which has thousands of readers and is full of links to Bay Area science events.
